Swimsuits for Every Body Type
Summer is upon us and there’s no better reason to go on a full out swimsuit shopping spree! It may be middle of swimsuit season, but that’s when the best sales on swimwear happen!
Anyways for most shopping for a new swimsuit can be a daunting task, some say they even dread it… However, shopping for the perfect swimsuit doesn’t have to be stressful. There are tons of different swimsuit styles (monokinis, tankinis, bikinis, one piece swimsuits) and cuts. So without further ado, we present to you everything from curvier frames to athletic types here are a few of our favorites to help you find the most flattering fits.
Women who are pear shaped are typically smaller on top (bust, shoulders, and waist) and fuller around the hips, butt, and thighs. The key to pear shapes is to emphasize up top and downplay your bottom half. Try opting for tops that have prints and embellishments. Avoid hipsters and bottoms with busy prints or horizontal stripes.
Unlike pear shapes, ladies with apple-shaped frames are generally fuller on top (busts and shoulders) and have smaller hips and thighs. Try halter and constructed tops for more support and wearing hipsters or printed bottoms to emphasize hips.
Women with athletic builds have straight figures – no curves and narrow at the hips and bust. The key is to emphasize the bust, waist, and hips to create the illusion of curves. Styles to try include embellished tops with fringe, sequins, or ruffles, triangle or halter tops, sweetheart lined tops and monokinis.
Women with hourglass figures are curvy around the bust and hips and narrow around the waist. Because they are proportionate all around, the key is to find pieces that support your top and bottom. Opt for halters and constructed tops and bottoms with thick ties at the side. Avoid boyshorts and bottoms with thin side-ties.

Petite women are usually 5’4 and shorter and generally have smaller features around the bust, torso, and hips. Women with petite frames should emphasize the bust area with printed triangle, halter, or sweetheart styles. They should also opt for low rise bottoms to emphasize a longer torso.
If you’re not comfortable showing your belly, don’t worry! Conceal it with a one-piece or high waisted bottom that still figures flattering, sexy, and instills confidence.
